Gastritis is a general name for a group of conditions characterized by inflammation, irritation, or erosion of the lining of the stomach. The cause of gastritis can be bacterial or viral infection, stress, certain medications, excessive alcohol consumption, bile reflux... With such a list of prerequisites, it is not surprising that every second person on the planet suffers from gastritis. For some, it is asymptomatic, for others suddenly (acute gastritis), for others it prevents permanent life (chronic gastritis).Symptoms of gastritis are as follows:
- stomach upset;
- loss of appetite
- hiccup.
- explosion.
- nausea
- vomiting
- Abdominal pain.
- The stool is dark in color and has the consistency of tar.
All this is very unpleasant, and even more unpleasant are the possible consequences of gastritis - such as an ulcer or stomach cancer. But wait to panic! The disease is not so terrible if you follow a diet during gastritis.
Who needs a diet during gastritis? To everyone whose life is poisoning me in one way or another.Since gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach, it is very important to monitor what goes into the stomach. Some foods contribute to the development and strengthening of inflammation, while others, on the contrary, "soothe".Even if gastritis is asymptomatic, you should still follow a diet, at least in general terms - this will prevent the disease from worsening.
What not to eat if you have gastritis
The main aspect of nutrition during gastritis is not to irritate an already irritated stomach, that is, to eat as neutral food as possible. This, of course, does not mean that you will be able to eat only chicken and steamed vegetables without salt, but you will have to give up all kinds of spicy, salty, dry, smoked foods, especially if the doctor prescribed a diet for gastritis with high acidity. So what should you not eat?

- Spicy dishes. This includes many national dishes: Korean kimchi, Thai tom yum, Mexican tacos.
- fatty food. This also includes fast food - the amount of fat in it is much higher than usual.Studies have shown time and time again that consuming too much fat makes gastritis worse, and you really don't want that.
- alcohol.Any alcohol is a risk factor for provoking gastritis attacks, so it is better to completely refuse it.Even a small fraction can be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
- High acid foods. This includes, for example, citrus fruits.
- sweets and pickles.Unfortunately, both also irritate the stomach walls, so you'll need to salt your food and eat it in moderation. This also includes industrially produced juices and soda - they are by no means on the list of what you can drink if you have gastritis.
- bakery. It is best to buy or bake whole grain bread.
- Kvass.not really.
- Fermented milk products. The stomach lining is not friendly to them either. This also includes whole milk. You can use sour cream, but not much.
- spices and sauces.Be careful with them: even ketchup can provoke an attack, not to mention adjika. The pepper mixture should be removed from the table, and the mustard is also superfluous.
Sometimes the cause of inflammation can be an allergy to something, but these are quite rare cases.
To facilitate navigation, here are examples of foods that should be excluded from the diet during gastritis.
You can not eat:Sausage, fresh bread, baked goods, fatty cheese, sweets and cakes, pickles, cakes, scrambled eggs, fried cutlets, cottage cheese, dried meat, cherries, raisins, cereals, French fries, comfort food, fatty meat, onion - chocolate, corn instant food, liver, fatty fish (salmon, tuna), canned food, legumes,Mushrooms, unripe fruits.
You can not drink:Cocoa, strong tea, juices, any alcohol, carbonated sweet drinks, energy drinks.
In general, nutrition during gastritis depends on the acidity of the stomach and, accordingly, whether it needs to be increased, decreased or "left alone".
If your acidity is high, remove extra coffee, rye bread, citrus fruits, tomatoes, meat and fish broth, radishes, white cabbage, pearl barley, barley and millet. However, you should not exceed all these products, even with low acidity.By the way, if the temperature is high, you can make milk soups, but if it's low, you can't.
In addition, food sensitivities can vary from person to person, so for example, cabbage, nuts or dairy products can be tried in gastritis (strictly outside of flare-ups and in small doses). If everything is in order, then small doses of these products can remain in the diet. However, the "let's try" method categorically does not apply to fatty, spicy or salty foods, and certainly not to alcohol.Stomach won't really say thank you here, not because she can't talk.
Diet during gastritis: what you can eat

Now let's talk about what you can eat during gastritis. It may seem that we have already mentioned everything in the previous paragraph, but, fortunately, this is not the case. However, before moving on to the list of allowed products, we will give general recommendations of doctors.so:
- Eat fractionally - that is, often and in small portions, so as not to overload the stomach.5-6 times a day - and the inflammation will begin to subside.
- Food should be warm.Food that is too cold or too hot will irritate the stomach lining and increase inflammation.
- The more thoroughly you chew, the better.Regardless of whether you have gastritis with high or low acidity, the gastritis diet mainly involves eliminating foods that can mechanically irritate the stomach. Therefore, it is recommended to eat breaded, ground food during exacerbation.
- Everything should be either stewed, boiled or steamed.Do not eat fried food.
Let's move on to the main issue: what can you eat during gastritis? The list will be quite impressive. You will not have any particular problems if you eat:
- Lean meat: chicken, turkey, ideally rabbit.Steamed cutlet, baked meat, tongue.
- Lean fish: pollock or hake.
- Dry white bread, maybe yesterday's bread.
- Dairy products are low in fat and sugar and will be beneficial with probiotics.
- Pasta (small, whole grain is better, but regular pasta, for example, "spider web" will do).
- Vegetables: broccoli, pumpkin, carrot, cauliflower, potato, zucchini. You can eat greens - dill, parsley, just finely chopped.
- Fruit: Baked apples are number one.If the acidity is low, you can use citrus fruits. All fruits must be ripe.
- Sweets: marshmallows, marshmallows, honey, sour cream or jam in small quantities.
- Dairy products: cottage cheese and cottage cheese dishes, skimmed milk, kefir, yogurt.
- Oil: butter or refined vegetable oil.
- Broths: vegetables, with low acidity, meat and fish, in any case - weak.
- Cereals: buckwheat, rice, oatmeal, semolina, you can cook porridge, make puddings or casseroles.
- Eggs: soft-boiled, in the form of a steam omelette (it works well in the microwave, by the way).
As you can see, the disease allows you to eat a varied and balanced diet.If the child has been diagnosed with inflammation of the stomach, then the question of what can be eaten with gastritis is also not worth it, just follow the list above. Now about the drink:
- Dried fruit compote and more - we remember kindergarten.By the way, very tasty and healthy.
- the neck.
- weak tea
- For low acidity - coffee.
- Rose hip decoction.
Let's repeat again - it is especially important to follow the diet during the exacerbation and for two weeks after it.At other times, you can indulge yourself, but it's better not to get carried away, otherwise you will have to sit on porridge and mashed soups for half a month - this is not a good prospect.
